1. Log into your Google account.

2. Please read the short article about The House on Mango Street at this link.

3. After you finish reading it, please write a five sentence summary of the article in the comments section below. Make sure you post your comment under your Google account then submit.

4. When you are finished, you may look over Announcements, Toolbox, and Lesson for today (listed below), then close your laptop and return to your seat. We will use the computers again later, so you don't need to log out yet.

  1. in the story of "the house on mango street" it talks about this women who lives on mango street. Witch she was blessed with the ability to tell story's. she told of a story of people starting a family and then the father walks out on them. and of how she is also on mango street and hates it and is looking forward to the day she may finally leave.

  2. The house on mango street was about what they saw. There is a lot of poverty and young mothers. Some of the young mothers had 2 children balanced one on each hip. some were left by street talking boyfriends. and the book was poorly spaced.

  3. Being an mexican immigrant from mexico or a family that is new to Chicagos city and its challenges his hard for most families. Especially when its only a mother watching out for all her kids and the boyfriend leaves them. The House On Mango Street explains this situation and goes through a childhood point of view. To a grown ups point of view on losing close relatives or riding a bike. Several pleasures for kids childhood, and challenges especially living in a big city like Chicago.

  4. In the story of "The House on Mango street" it talks about a women who lives on Mango street. She wants to leave mango street to become a writer. On Mango street she sees that the husbands and boyfriends leave their young mothers with babies. So she wants to leave mango street so she wont have to see all the horrible things on mango street.
