  1. Nelson Mandela was the first president of south Africa, and he wanted to help his people, and provide them with food, shelter and clothing. The presidents after him didn't do a very good job, they didn't do much to help the people of affrica, cause crime went up the homeless majority went up.

  2. Mandela was is one of the many African leaders. He also won the Nobel Peace Prize.
The reason he did such a better job then those before him is because he spent his prime years in jail. Mr. Mandela had a strong character that the people needed at this time.

  3. Mr. Mandela’s enormous strength steeled him for his long struggle and ultimate victory over apartheid. Spent the prime years of his life in prison, Mandela was 75 when he first took office as president in 1994, and was 80 when he retired in 1999. South Africa faces many challenging problems. Scandalous mismanagement of the H.I.V./AIDS epidemic by Thabo Mbeki brought widespread, unnecessary suffering. Mr. Mbeki and Jacob Zuma, the president, had failed to provide the enlightened regional leadership many had expected. It had helped sustain the murderous Robert Mugabe in power in neighboring Zimbabwe.

  4. Nelson was one of the strongest leaders in the age because in the article it states"Not only did he lead his people to triumph over the deeply entrenched system of apartheid that enforced racial segregation in every area of South African life; he achieved this victory without the blood bath so many had predicted and feared. " The President after him, did not do that great of the job. As soon as he moved in many crimes started happening and there was no control anywhere. And people started to get homeless.

  7. Nelson Mandela was one of the strongest leaders of the modern age.
"he lead his people to triumph over the deeply entrenched system of apartheid that enforced racial segregation in every area of South African life; he achieved this victory without the blood bath so many had predicted and feared." "presided over a landmark Truth and Reconciliation process that finally allowed apartheid’s victims a measure of official recognition and acknowledgment of their suffering."

The leaders of South Africa that came after Mr. Mandela have not done as good a job as he did.
"Jacob Zuma, the current president, has failed to provide the enlightened regional leadership many had expected" "Most ominously, the end of apartheid did not, and still has not, brought an end to the deep poverty of millions of its victims."

  9. Nelson Mandela a leader in disguise, who became president of South Africa at the age of 75. Due to a imprisonment for 25 years because of the racial issues the country was having. Is one of the strongest leaders the world yet had to see in its era. He being so old didn't think once of retiring as an old man and live on with the worlds problems. He decided to help its problems and put away the racism and segregation that was being spread ed throughout South Africa.
The leaders who have become full of power from the South African government haven't done there revolutionary job to help the streets of South Africa. The number one epidemic that is going on in South Africa is AIDS/H.I.Vs. These leaders haven't done anything to provide equality management for its country, and equality health aid for all of its citizens. Nelson Mandela will be missed and especially more he will be missed by the remarks and revolution he fought for South Africans rights.

  10. Mandela has always been one of the greatest leader they will ever have also Mandela has won the Nobel Peace Prize showing that he has done a very good job. The new leaders have not been doing a very good. The last one has not been taken care of the people and there is H.I.V and AIDS. Most of them have to take care of them so they won't look bad.
