  1. She want to help childhood obesity which is good, but she is doing it in the wrong way. Most people would have just handed out raisins or carrots or something healthy, people wouldn't give out a letter telling there kids about fat. She is going at it all wrong; most people think she is. If you are not going to give "fat" kids candy at least make it fair and don't give any candy to the "non-fat" kids either.

  2. Trick-or-treating is a way for kids to have fun, walk around and get candy. What that lady is doing is wrong. Probably the kid has already gone through so much and her sending them out a letter saying that they're obese is not right. That's just going to bring down their low self esteem more than it probably already is. Nobody would want to be in that situation of having to deal with obesity, but hey, it's something that happens and she shouldn't be worrying about it. That's what the parents are for.

  3. No kids have to have gotten that letter calling them fat that could really hurt the kids feelings. No one know's what they might be going through all they ask for is some candy. They are only kids let them be, I don't understand why she did and doesn't feel bad about it? what if she have gotten one of these letter when she was a child it would of hurt her feeling or have been sad about not getting any candy from her,

  4. Halloween and fat kids getting fatter. In this article the "woman" is thinking she is helping with obesity, when in all reality she is not. In the article it states that "fat-shaming has adverse effects and actually increases the risk for obesity.". Also, "many societal sectors can influence a child's lifestyle habits and recommends combating this issue by promoting healthy eating and physical activity, while fostering a supportive environment.

"Fat-shaming" is not one of those recommendations.". Kids are kids, leave them be, if they are obese let the parents deal with it and don't hurt the children.

  5. seeing this letter i think its outrageously rude and really i think shes just being a hipacrit. I think its the parents responcability to be the one to tell there kids to go on a diet or not not the duty of some local 'super women' if you will.just like it states for some kids it might just brake the camels back and do a lot more harm then good in any sanerio. I think its a justified reason but she will be going at it all the wrong way have like a low fat yougart bar or something instead of a nasty letter.

  6. One should worry about themselves and not what others are doing because they might take offence on what you think. In my opinion, parents should be the ones caring for their kid eating habit. Just giving a letter to an overweight kid saying that there obese well make him really mad or sad, even the parents can get mad getting a letter saying that. From the video they ask people if it was right to give them this letters, they said "No they should mine there own business" or " Its not right."

  7. The article "North Dakota Woman May Be Giving 'Fat Letters' Instead Of Candy This Halloween" why would someone think like that. Saying that it is very irresponsible of the parents to send their children to get free candy just because other kids do it , it is just making her look disrespectful. No matter if you see a child "fat" as she described it you just have to keep your own opinion to yourself. Just give out candy and keep smiling.

  8. Well you see everyone deserves to have the same Halloween no matter if your a fat or skinny child. People should just mind their own business cause you probably will or mite hurt a child's feelings. When that women gave the skinny kids the candy, and then they give the fat kid the letter that is just wrong. The lady who did that doesn't know that the kids who are obesited have had harder lives and its not what always cause they have a bad eating habit it can be genetics.

  9. I don't think it's good for this woman to do this. She shouldn't worry about other kids health, she should worry about her own. If she doesn't want her kids getting candy then they shouldn't. Other kids shouldn't be getting this just because of their health. This can hurt children's feelings, instead of helping them.

  10. Trick-or- Treating is a holiday that kids love for the reason that they get to spend time with friends and family. And GET FREE CANDY. Its a way for kids having courage to go out and knock on doors. Honestly I think that parents should be the ones to tell their kids to get on a diet. But another people that is just mean. It shouldn't even concern other people about other parents kids. If they don't agree with Halloween then they should even celebrate it and not give out anything at all. Because it a way to ruin a kids self a steam, in other words bullying. That is the least that we want because for that reason many kids are committing suicide. Its just stupid. People just shouldn't worry about other parents kids.

  11. This women writing a letter of recommendation to all fating obesity children and giving it to them as soon as they trick-or-treat her house. Is a criminal offense, this is could be called trick-or-treating harassment ot simple, emotional harassment. To this fat obesity children, lowing there self esteem, then having these children do stupid things because they are simply hurt emotionally. Instead of giving out these letters, she could simply give out carrots and a smile on her face instead of these discouraging letters.Yes, there is a problem of obesity rising in our country today, and there are ways to stop it. But this way simply wont work and is not encouraging children or people to loose weight.
