ReplyDeletethey talk about words that aren't used anymore cause they find them inappropriate and gross like the name from a soup called slugmillion because they say that in a restaurant none would order something called slugmillion because it sound depraving and disgusting. Also a shiska known as a prostitute and like other words there trying to add to the dictionary some words to make them seem more appropriate for anyone to say without fear of children listening
ReplyDeleteThis story is about people who are trying to get new words in the dictionary that mean the same thing as other words that no one really uses anymore or words that people just don't like to hear. So what their trying to do is use different words to mean the same stuff but make it so the word isn't as boring or words that nobody likes to hear.
ReplyDeleteIn some cases what this article is about is that many people are trying to add words that once where alive but died but a lot of people actually are trying to bring it into the dictionary as words again. A lot of people think this a very bad idea because the words that people are trying to get back alive are pretty much gross. A good Example is that in dinning rooms don't like the word slumgullion(this word means stew) is a really gross word, I really dont know why but that pretty
ReplyDeleteThe article was about how words that aren't used anymore, are being taken away from the dictionary. The words sound really offensive on the way people say these words. people are frightened to say it in front of a children.
ReplyDeleteThis articular is talking about how people are using old words that people don't us anymore and trying to make a name for it. As in some restaurant are doing this knew style to get people interested. They are just trying to promote some thing that might taste good and give it a weird name. For example "slumgullion". It is a weird name but people still buy it and like it.
ReplyDeletethe article is about a writer that is trying to write a book but in older kind of talking a she was looking how people live and talk in this eras because all the word and other things are different as like its right now she id trying to write a book about how people talk to each and then they give other stories and i see that they are different about how we talk like other people in the 19th century they have different way to communication to each others
